My assumption is they would all fit in my slot given I've been apparently slightly abusing the existing GT. Anyway, I'm going to price each of these options out and pick the lowest costing unit.

Wolfshadw Aug 2,3: The only incompatibility issues are with PCI-E 2. I bought an overclocked GT 1 GB I looked at the idle power requirements on the GT and it doesn't make sense to me that it wouldn't boot up to the desktop.
I didn't unintall the nvidia drivers for the old card, but the disk that installed this card's drivers seemed to overwrite them anyway. The old had that secondary 6 pin power supply going into it, so I was trying rationalize this as the not getting enough juice, but that seems tenuous to me. So either I'm looking at a problem I am too ignorant to know about, a magical OEM motherboard poke in the eye, or the card that I got HP Pavilion d4100e VGA eBay was toast to begin with.
I'm going to try and check out that last option tomorrow at a computer store that's friendly. I won't mention the tiny capacitor I had to glue back on to the card after some kind of card removal mishap. Suffice to say I won't be selling it on eBay now.
